Albergo Orientale
The budget option of choice, a stone-throw from the main railway station and the airport bus stop on Via Maqueda. The hotel is housed in an 18th-century palazzo: you enter through a beautiful courtyard and have to climb a sweeping marble staircase to get to the reception. Clean and full of character, it can get a bit noisy in the morning, as some of the room overlook a market.
