Il Teatro
Fine dining is relatively new to Macau, but Wynn Macau's Italian restaurant carries off its pioneering status with theatrical grandeur. Excellent southern Italian cuisine and pizzas are dished up in a dining room shaped like an operatic balcony around the grand stage: created by floor to ceiling windows looking out over the performing fountains outside, which spark into life every 15 minutes. The Mandarin Oriental's signature restaurant is beautifully designed in the style of a traditional Portuguese family villa. Bright and airy, with large tables, comfy lounge-style chairs and plenty of natural light, it doubles as both a formal venue for business lunches and a relaxing retreat for a romantic evening dinner. This is a genuine Macanese icon. This beachside bungalow serves hearty Portuguese fare on red-and-white-check tablecloths - with large accompanying jugs of sangria. Portuguese wines are displayed around the dining room and taste especially fine when sipped under the big tree in the courtyard.

Follow the aroma of roasting coffee beans to this delightful Portuguese café, located down a side lane just off Senado Square (the turning is by McDonald's). Café Ou Mun serves good value set lunches and freshly-baked pastries and breads, and the fresh-brewed coffee is excellent.
