With a number of new openings and some renovations, the hotel scene in Copenhagen has greatly improved over the last few years. As the city is so compact, most hotels are located within walking distance of the centre. The city offers more than 13,000 hotel rooms in total.
VAT (MOMS) of 25% is automatically included in all hotel prices, as is a city environmental tax. Additionally, it is customary to give porters a small tip.
The prices quoted below are the lowest standard rates for a double room, including VAT. Many hotels do offer promotional rates, seasonal discounts, special packages and discounts for booking via the Internet.
