Restaurant Bruderholz
A classic on the Basel restaurant scene, Restaurant Bruderholz offers haute cuisine in the French culinary tradition, and it does it extremely well. Some of the dishes served here are works of art, and the excellent wine list complements the menu perfectly. A refined and elegant restaurant, it has three separate dining rooms. In the summer, weather permiting, it is possible dine in the garden.

Les Quatre Saisons
If you enjoy highly imaginative and modern cuisine, Les Quatre Saisons is the place to go. A luxurious restaurant with a Michelin star, it offers a wonderfully creative menu based on seasonal ingredients and the flavours of the region. French, Italian, Swiss and German culinary elements are combined to great effect here.

Restaurant Besenstiel
Seasonal ingredients fresh from the market are central to the exceptional Mediterranean food served at the Besenstiel. A delightful freshness and lightness of touch characterise the dishes on offer. The restaurant has a fine selection of Portuguese wines. Dining alfresco is possible in fine weather.

Restaurant Safran Zunft
A charming restaurant with lots of atmosphere, Safran Zunft is located in a guild house going back to the Middle Ages. It offers flavoursome food with an emphasis on Swiss and regional dishes, such as the fondue Bacchus, the house speciality. For those who would like something more unusual there is an exciting section of South African dishes on the menu.

Aladin Restaurant
A lovely Lebanese restaurant on Barfusserplatz, Aladin has a wide-ranging menu incorporating both classic Lebanese meat dishes and vegetarian options. Lebanese cuisine is a mix of several influences, in particular Arabic and French, and these elements come together in a creative and attractive way here. The grilled meat dishes are excellent.

Restaurant Pizza Bar
Located near the Spalenberg market place Restaurant Pizza Bar has seating for around hundred people and serves tasty Italian pizzas cooked in a stone furnace. The restaurant is open from lunchtime, and on Fridays and Saturdays it stays open until 0300 to cater for the city's many hungry night owls.
