Basel City Guide - Getting There By Rail

There are three rail stations in Basel, and they operate frequent, modern train services that link the city with the rest of Switzerland and all parts of Europe. The SBB (tel: 0900 300 300; website: www.sbb.ch) and SNCF (website: http://web.sncf.fr) stations are located next to each other in the city centre south of the Rhine and serve trains to and from destinations in Switzerland and France respectively. The DB (tel: 0800 150 7090; website: www.bahn.de) station can be found north of the river and administers train services to and from destinations in Germany. The easiest way to move from the Swiss and French stations to the German station is to take tram 2.
