The tourist office organises two tours: one takes in the historical centre of Antwerp on foot, while the other one (by bicycle) pedals along the quays of the River Scheldt to the old port, the 'Eilandje' (Little Island), the narrow medieval streets of the Sint-Andries quarter and on to the now-very-fashionable 19th-century Zuid district. Tickets are available from the tourist office on Grote Markt.

Tour guide Carolien Krijnen offers Fashionwalk, Rubenswalk and Golden Age themed tours, in addition to general  and cycling tours (tel: 0496 363 559; website: www.antwerpconnection.com).

Pleasure cruises along the Scheldt start from the Steenplein. Flandria (tel: (03) 231 3100; website: www.flandriaboat.com) includes port tours; Rivertours Antwerpen (tel: (03) 711 3821; website: www.rivertours.be) is another option.

The Antwerp Diamond Bus (website: www.brussels-city-tours.com/engels/engantwerpdiamondline.htm) is a hop-on hop-off service calling at or near most attractions. It runs daily from early April to early November and Saturday and Sunday only from November to March.
