Bratislava City Guide - Nightlife

Tours in Bratislava

Bratislava's best nightlife focuses on the Old Town, where traditional Slovak beer halls mix with upscale cocktail lounges and cafes. A flurry of new flights in recent years has brought a new breed of visitor looking to party hard. Most Old Town pubs close by midnight due to noise ordinances, thus clubs and live music venues are confined to business districts or the Danube riverbanks and stay open until 0400-0600. People's, Gorkeho 1, and Medusa, Michalska 21, are cocktail lounges for the smart set, and The Dubliner, Sedlarska 6, is a magnet for English speaking residents and visitors. Stara Sladovna, Cintorinska 32, is one of the oldest and largest drinking dens in the country with lashings of ice cold Budvar beer on tap. Café De Zwaan, Panska 7, is a genuine Belgian beer cafe with a spectacular selection, strategically located next to the EU's representative office in Bratislava. Havana Club, Michalska 26, offers Cuban rum, Cohiba cigars and Latin dance, U-Club, a former fall-out shelter at Nabrezie arm.gen. L Svobodu is a techno-house, and the most packed club is Cirkus Barok, on a three level barge on the Danube at Razusovo nabrezie. Live venues include Babylon, Karpatska 2, and Nu Spirit, Medena 16 for jazz.
