Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is situated 45km (28 miles) north of Stockholm. The airport is a major aviation hub for the Baltic and Scandinavian regions. The airport is used by 60 international airlines. In 2006, it processed 17.5 million passengers.

Airport facilities: Services include duty-free shops, banks, bureaux de change, ATMs, restaurants and bars. There is a Radisson SAS SkyCity hotel (tel: (08) 5067 4000; website: www.radissonsas.com) at the airport and its health club can be booked for single use. Avis, Europcar and Hertz provide car hire.

Business facilities: Arlanda airport offers business facilities at the Arlanda Conference and Business Center (tel: (08) 797 6200), located in SkyCity (between terminals four and five). The centre offers 48 conference rooms accommodating from two to 700 delegates, offices and an exhibition hall for up to 1000 delegates. Open Monday to Friday and weekends on request.

Transport to the city: Arlanda Express trains (tel: (02) 022 2224; website: www.arlandaexpress.com) to Stockholm Central run every 10 to 15 minutes (journey time - 20 minutes). Flygbussarna (tel: (08) 600 1000; website: www.flygbussarna.com) bus services run frequently (every 10 minutes for most of the day) to Stockholm (journey time - 40 minutes). The SL (tel: (08) 600 1000; website: www.sl.se) bus 583 runs frequent services from the airport to Märsta train station, from where commuter trains run to central Stockholm. 

Taxis are located in front of all terminals. Environmentally friendly taxis are available.

Bromma Airport (BMA)

Bromma Airport is located 8km (6 miles) west of Stockholm and is an important hub for domestic flights. The airport processed 1.6 million passengers in 2006.

Airport facilities: Services at Bromma airport include a restaurant and shops. There are several hotels, including Flyghotellet and Mornington Hotel, located nearby. Car hire is available from Avis, Europcar, Mabi and Hertz.

Business facilities: The airport has two conference rooms, a small room accommodating four people and a larger room accommodating 12 to 18 people. They can be booked by calling (08) 797 6800. There is also a lounge (the so-called Yellow Room) with office and business facilities at the airport.

Transport to the city: SL (tel: (08) 600 1000; website: www.sl.se) or Flygbussarna (tel: (08) 600 1000; website: www.flygbussarna.com) airport buses to Stockholm offer connections to the city centre (journey time - 20 minutes). Buses operate approximately every half an hour. Flygtaxi (tel: (08) 635 6960 or 020 979 797) operates a taxi service to the city centre.


Skavsta Airport (NYO)

Skavsta Airport is situated 100km (62 miles) south of Stockholm and is the terminus for the Ryanair international service from London Stansted. It is also a major cargo airport.

Airport facilities: These include a bureau de change, information desk, duty-free shop, restaurant, bar and coffee shop. Car hire is available from Avis, Europcar and Hertz.

Business facilities: There are no business facilities or executive lounges currently available at Skavsta Airport, but there are computer terminals offering Internet access.

Transport to the city: Flygbussarna (tel: (08) 600 1000; website: www.flygbussarna.com) buses to Stockholm run 15 to 20 times a day, connecting with flights (journey time - 1 hour 20 minutes). You can pre-order a taxi by calling Nyköping Oxelösund Taxis (tel: (015) 521 7500) or Södertälje Taxis (tel: (08) 5502 0000) (journey time to Stockholm - 1 hour).


Västerås Airport (VST)

Västerås Airport is situated 5km (3 miles) from the town of Vasteras, approximately a one-hour journey from Stockholm. It currently serves routes to London, Dublin and Antalya.

Airport facilities: Facilities include a cafe/bar, a shop and car hire from Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Mabi.

Business facilities: There currently are no business facilities or VIP lounges at the airport, but Wi-Fi access is available.

Transport to the city: A Flygbussarna (tel: (08) 600 1000; website: www.flygbussarna.com) bus service runs to Stockholm city centre, meeting all Ryanair flights (journey time - approximately 1 hour 15 minutes). Taxis are available too (journey time - 1 hour 15 minutes).

Approximate flight times to Stockholm: From London is 2 hours 30 minutes; from New York is 7 hours 45 minutes; from Los Angeles is 14 hours 10 minutes; from Toronto is 12 hours 10 minutes and from Sydney is 24 hours 10 minutes.
