Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
This 164-hectare (405-acre) reserve, 12km (7.5 miles) from the city centre, is one of the first forest reserves established in Singapore and one of the city's few natural attractions. With more species of trees than North America, it is great for hiking or cycling along its well-marked paths, alongside a wonderful variety of plants, animals and insects, including flying lemurs and anteaters. Within the reserve is Bukit Timah Hill, at 164m (538ft) and Singapore's highest point.
